Adult soccer league deadline Aug. 22

Adults 18 and over interested in playing in the Hood River Co-ed Soccer League can register online for the fall season at hoodriversoccer.com. The registration deadline is Aug. 22. The league is a recreational league open to players of all skill levels. Returning players will remain with their current teams. New players will be assigned to teams.  The league expects to have between 4-6 teams this season. Games are Monday and Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hood River. The season starts Aug. 25 and will run through October. Cost is $30.

Blue and Gold Aug. 22, Alumni games Aug. 23

Hood River Valley High School will be holding its fall Blue and Gold night on Aug. 22. Festivities will begin with a volleyball scrimmage at 5 p.m. A barbeque will be held at Henderson Community Stadium beginning at 6 p.m. Football scrimmages will begin at 6:15 p.m. And a crosss country time trial will be at 6:30 p.m. The boys and girls soccer teams will be announced during breaks in the scrimmages.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, the Hood River Valley boys and girls soccer teams will hold intrasquad scrimmages at 10 a.m. to be followed by Alumni games at 12:30. A barbeque will precede the games at 11 a.m. Interested alumni should contact either Joe Kelly or Doug Beveridge.

One Last Swing Tourney Sept. 28

After a one-year hiatus, the 15th annual One Last Swing Tournament will be played at Indian Creek Golf Course Sunday, Sept. 28. The tournament is for women only and the $75 entry fee includes greens fees, cart rental, a fabulous lunch and bountiful prizes. It is an 18-hole medal play format, with the field divided into three classes by handicap.

There will be multiple winners in each class for Low Gross, Low Net, Long Drive, KP, and Fewest Putts. A shotgun start is  scheduled for 9 a.m.

The registration deadline is Sept. 15 and entry forms are available at Indian Creek Golf Course, or online from outbackfarmer@gorge.net. Practice rounds will be available at a special rate on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 27.

Kids triathlon Aug. 30

The Gorge Kids Triathlon will be held Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is underway at the Hood River Aquatic Center and those who sign up before Aug. 25 receive a free pool pass. On the day of the race, registration and check-in start at 9 a.m and the race begins at 10 a.m. For more information, contact the Hood River Aquatic Center at (541) 386-1303.
