Hood River Running
Club begins July 7
Hood River
Running Club will begin meeting every Monday, Wednesday and
Thursday at 7 p.m. starting July 7 and continuing through the
summer.
Monday’s
session will be at the HRVHS track; Wednesdays will be at the
downtown stairs, and on Thursdays members will meet at 6:30 p.m.
in the HRVHS parking lot before heading to Tollbridge Park at 7
p.m. The club is for all ages and abilities and will be
self-paced workouts.
Hood River
summer league for women's lacrosse players entering ninth grade
through adult will be held on Wednesday nights, July 9, July 16
and July 23, at Westside Elementary’s north field.Players need
to bring molded mouthguard, goggles and stick to play. All

Gorge
football sign-ups through July 11
The seventh
annual season of the Gorge Football League will begin July 28
and sign-ups for players entering fourth-sixth grade are through
July 11. Players must be under 12 years old and birth
certificates and proof of medical insurance are required upon
registration. Fourth-graders will be accepted with both parent
and coaches’ approval only. Players will play a six-game
schedule of full-contact football with equipment that meets full
safety standards. The registration fee of $55 per player may be
paid to Community Education. For more information or to

Elks golf tourney July 19
The Hood River
Elks Lodge will hold its annual golf tournament July 19 at Hood
River Golf Course. Registration will begin at 11 a.m with a
shotgun start for the 18-hole scramble beginning at noon. Cost
of the event is $300 per team or $75 per individual entry.
The cost
includes cart, lunch, dinner and prizes. A dinner and silent
auction at the Elks Lodge will follow the tournament. Dinner
price for non-players is $10. For more information contact the

Youth lax
camp July 22-24 at Westside
A youth
lacrosse camp for boys grades 3-8 will be held July 22-24 at the
Westside Elementary south field. The camp will run from 9 a.m. -
1 p.m. each day and will be run by high school and youth coaches
as well as players from the high school team.
The camp will
emphasize sound fundamentals, defense and game situations and
strategies. Cost for the camp is $75, which includes a camp
T-shirt. Registration deadline is July 8. To register, contact

Rouches
golf tournament July 27
The annual
George Rouches Memorial Golf Tournament will be held July 27 at
Indian Creek Golf Course. The event is a fund-raiser for the
Hood River Library Foundation and will feature four-person teams
in a scramble format. There will also be closest to the hole,
long drive and hole-in- one contests. Entry fee is $300 per
team, which includes a continental breakfast and boxed lunch.

wins ICMGA play
Paul Dezurick
won the Indian Creek Men's Golf Association Tuesday, July 1,
individual net play with a net 68. Nathan Armerding was second
at net 69. Paul Armerding was third at net 69. Brian Short was
low gross with a 76. Weldon Minchew got the KP on the fifth
hole. Sign up for the July 11-13 Club Championship in the pro
shop.
