Gorge football sign-ups through July 11

The seventh annual season of the Gorge Football League will begin July 28 and sign-ups for players entering fourth-sixth grade are through July 11. Players must be under 12 years old and birth certificates and proof of medical insurance are required upon registration. Fourth graders will be accepted with both parent and coaches’ approval only. Players will play a six-game schedule of full-contact football with equipment that meets full safety standards. The registration fee of $55 per player may be paid to Community Education. Indian Creek junior camps coming soon

Indian Creek Golf Course will be hosting at least two junior golf camps this summer for young golfers age 6 and up. The camps will be hosted by course pro Dennis Dolin and the Indian Creek staff. The two scheduled camps will be June 24-26 and July 8-10 and a third may be added if needed to meet demand. All aspects of golf from instruction, rules, etiquette and course play will be covered. HRV girls summer B-ball camp June 23-26, junior camps coming up also

The Hood River Valley girls basketball team will be hosting a summer camp June 23-26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at HRVHS. The camp will feature fundamental skills development, competitive drills, shooting instruction, passing and receiving skills, rebounding, ball handling, defensive skills, team attitude, screening, stance and movement, lay-ups and motivation activities. Cost of the camp is $30 which includes a camp T-shirt.

There is also a beginner camp for boys and girls grades three and four June 30-July 3 at Westside Elementary from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost for the camp is $45. 

A summer hoops camp for boys and girls grades five - eight will be held July 7-10 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost for the camp is $70. To register contact Community Education at 386-2055. For more information, contact Phil Hukari at 386-4500.
