Ken Namba
Ken Namba, 90, of
Oak Ridge,
Tenn., currently residing in Assisted Living
at Adams Place
in Murfreesboro,
Tenn., died Thursday, Jan.
29, 2009, at
Middle
Tennessee Medical
Center. He was born in
Dee,
Ore., and was a World War II Army veteran,
MIS Division. He was the son of Seizaburo and Miyoshi Ashida
Namba, who immigrated from Okayama,
Japan, in 1917.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of
56 years, Emily Brewer Namba, from
Sylacauga, Ala.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon N. and Allan Steelman, of
Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two grandsons from Dallas/Fort Worth,
Texas: Christopher Boyd and his wife, Shannan, and their
children, Christian and Matthew, and Ken Boyd and his wife,
Nikki, and their sons, Dayton and Jackson; and granddaughter,
Kimberly Boyd Tenney, and her daughter and son, Lauren and
Chase, from Fairview, Tenn.; brother, Mark, from Hood River,
Ore.; sisters Mae Unno, from Los Angeles, Calif., Naomi Yagi,
from Sacramento, Calif., and Lilly Ogawa, from Sanger, Calif.
Ken graduated from both the
University
of Alabama and
Auburn, and worked as a chemical engineer
with Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak
Ridge, Tenn., at
K-25 in 1952; he also worked at X-10 and Y-12 before retiring in
1984.
Visitation with family will take place
from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, with a memorial service
at 7 p.m. in
Murfreesboro,
Tenn., at Woodfin Memorial Chapel; (615) 459-3254,

Interment will be Saturday, Feb. 7, with
visitation with family from 3-5
p.m., at Oak Ridge
Memorial Park,
