Folk band Pennies and Small Change perform at the first Rising Moon Festival at the OSU Extension grounds in Hood River on Sept. 13. The festival was a benefit for the Master Gardeners Association. About 125 people attended.

DK-4 Super Group plays Oct. 4

Celebrate Steve “Squrl” Curley’s 50th birthday on Saturday, Oct. 4, with Portland’s sought-after blues band “DK Stewart’s DK-4.” The event will be held at The Pines Tasting Room in Hood River, from 8-11 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance for this 21-and-over show. This is a non-smoking venue. The band will feature Mark DuFresne on harmonica, along with a three-piece horn section. Get tickets at The Pines or Waucoma Bookstore in Hood River.

Schneiderman plays CEBU Lounge

Stephanie Schneiderman is playing the CEBU Lounge on Friday, Sept. 26, from 9 to 11 p.m. There is no cover charge and a bar menu is available. “Schneiderman's exceptional songwriting talent and radiating charm are a winning combination. ‘Sugarcane’ at River City

It’s a busy week at the River City Saloon. On Thursday, Sept. 25, it’s Barry Hampton and the Triple Grip. Check them out at www.myspace.com/barryhampton. Mosier School benefit Sept. 27

Help get the Mosier Community School senior class to England by attending their “Bangers, Bidding and Brew” fund-raising event at the Springhouse Cellar Tasting Room in Hood River on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 6-9 p.m. The event will feature music by the Small Town Jazz Band. Full Sail celebrates ‘21’

They say your 21st birthday is a rite of passage — a milepost that comes with all the attendant privileges and responsibilities. Bruce Innes plays Sept. 26

Singer/songwriter Bruce Innes is coming to the Columbia Center for the Arts on Friday, Sept. 26. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. In the late 1960s Bruce was a founding member of the Canadian pop band “The Original Caste,” which continued to tour on and off until 1980. Innes has worked with nationally known artists including John Denver and Ray Stevens, and has shared the stage with the likes of Judy Collins and Joni Mitchell. Tickets are available at Waucoma Bookstore in Hood River.
