Guitarist Spence McClure strums
under uncertain skies, reflected in the window of Riverside
Community Church, where church members served free root beer
floats on Aug. 1 as part of First Friday in downtown Hood River.
The clouds, and brief rainfall, gave way to sunshine for the
evening, as evidenced by the long shadows at a break-dancing
demonstration in front of Hood River Bagel Company and Book
Stop. Thousands of people flocked downtown for First Friday to
hear music, look at local artwork, and even get a blood pressure
test courtesy of the Providence Hood River mobile health unit.
